Heartened by the stand made by these inspirational folks. The message, the visuals. All of it. After spending a week road-tripping out to Utah last year, I can't imagine not having the freedom to visit those places again. Well done, y'all.

Here's the full story.

We are still here. We are healthy. Physically. We have up days and down days, emotionally. We’re fortunate to have all that we have, when so many others struggle to secure basic needs. We love our together time, and we know how lucky we are to have each other as we dream of togetherness with family in Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida. ***** I am amazed at my relationship with Chris. How we laugh every day. How we hear each other. How we see each other. It’s a powerful thing, to feel this sort of openness, understanding, and safety. After a season of exactly the opposite, it means that much more. ***** The laundry still sits in baskets on the stairs. Dog hair still floats through the sun-filled living room. There are dishes to put away and home improvement projects to finish, and piles of I’ll-get-to-that-later. Some of the mess was a mess long before we began sheltering at home. ***** And we are still here. This is a photo I took yesterday. Perched at the top of the stairs, the dogs wait for Chris to walk through the front door after a day at the forge. I could watch them for hours, ears perked in hopes that each passerby is their man coming up the steps. ***** And there are the piles. I regularly apologize to company (before distancing) about the piles. But it turns out, I’m just not a tidy person. There are dogs to observe and there’s beer to share, and a beautiful partner to hug when he walks through the door. So the piles. I’ll get to them later.

He asked me if I wanted candy from the store. I said no. He came out of the store with a smiley face balloon. I tied it to my bike and threw a peace sign when we rode over the bridge toward home. ✌🏼 ☀️ 🚲 [This is a simple, random highlight. February has been tough.
